Why oh why??
It’s so very hard, this journey that we are all on. I have to thank God so much for bringing me to BS, for giving me my Wildcats and my tribe, because if it weren’t for all aspects of these 3, I would surely have given up on this journey long ago. I have been on BS sine Jan 2008. Now, granted, I got pregnant in Feb so was sidetracked for a bit, but I’ve been fully doing this since Jan of this year and I’ve only lost 10 pounds! 10 pounds in nearly 9 months!! That’s not as great as I would like. Why am I not seeing results? I have no idea!! I workout at minimun 5 days a week, plus shopping/walking on the weekends. I have given up processed foods, sugar, and flour… so why am I still not seeing the weight come off? I really wish I knew! Guess after our big move I’ll have to speak to a doctor about it. Maybe my thyroid is messed up too. It just doesn’t make any sense…..
Well yesterday at work our building was evacuated due to a serious deisel fuel leak. Apparently all our electric/ac/heating is run by deisel, and the tank leaked right down through the building, through the pipes and out onto the upper parking deck. The fumes started coming into all the offices and hazmat was called. We had to go out down the stairs and go across the street. The fireman said there is no way we can go back in the building, but we were ok to go into the parking garages under the building to get our cars… so we all scooted off to get our cars. Last night my bossman called and said that the fire dept had cleared the building… oh well.. back to work!!

Difference is, you are working at yours and I have not. I hope its nothing serious and that old scale begins to go downward soon for you. Hang in there! HUGS to you!

I feel the same, I just don’t know where I would be right now without buddyslim and the WC’s. I think going to the doctor is a very good idea, it sounds like you are doing everything right. Good luck.
I was thinking the same thing, maybe checking in with a doctor. I did when I first started losing weight and she helped me pinpoint a healthy weight range that had nothing to do with those misleading charts online, based on my body type and muscle mass and whatnot.

*sigh* Nick, I feel your frustration. Yours is valid…mine is not. I know what I’m doing wrong and I know what I have to do to fix it. I would definitely talk to your doctor! Also, I would love to come up with a new and creative challenge to open up to everyone on here…just to jump start some of the old systems.
Any ideas?
Going to the doc is a great idea. Honey, you know I struggle tooo so we in the same boat. Here hand me the paddle!!!

I am glad too that you have Buddy Slim and aren’t giving up.
It’s great that you are managing to stick with your plan of not eating flour and sugar and processed foods.
That can’t be easy.
Along with your plan do you count calories and journal your food intake?
Maybe that’s an idea that would help if you aren’t doing that now.
It wouldn’t hurt to talk to a dr. either. I think that’s a good idea.

I too have stopped losing weight…I lost about 10 pounds over summer but it has really stalled. I am not sure if it is my eating or exercise. I have read alot on plateaus lately…they suggest you keep adding intensity or changing your exercise routines (add weight or try different strength exercise, run at a different incline) I always try to vary my exercise, so I don’t think that is it
Might be my eating…I have just been trying to maintain for a while though, will try to lose weight again in about a month I am guessing.
I always see weight loss as a very long flight of stairs. Your body is running up those stairs (losing weight) now if I were really running up stairs, I would get winded and tired eventually, and so does your body. Your body slows down or it stops to catch it’s breathe so to speak…and so we plateau. Eventually, once your body recovers or catch its breath, grab some water, it returns to climbing those stairs and losing the pounds!
So I keep that in mind…just keep working towards it and I figure our bodies will catch up!
Hey I haven’t lost ANY weight since Feb!! You just got to almost laugh and keep going…I know why I didn’t lose weight though…but now I am back on track.
Would def check it out with a dr. In the meantime, I would go over what you are doing with a fine tooth comb, check your calories, and water, all of it. Hang in there, though, you can do it.

I agree. Without buddyslim and all the great people here I would not being doing so well in my weigh loss and the emoeional issues that caused the weight gain.
